Happy New Year

A new year has started, and with it, like every other year, the hope this is a good year. Hope for more peace, tolerance, dialogue between opposite points of view. Hope for more love, happiness and personal success. You can also add the hope for good electoral results, an economic boost and one step further into social equity, if you live in Portugal.

As the year starts, and old problems remain, I'm planning on getting rid of most of my TODO items. There's way too much stuff I'm leaving behind due to my work schedules. So, the best thing to do is getting them done as fast as I can.

My post-graduation report, for instance, should be on wheels by now, but it seems cursed from where I'm standing. That report is supposed to be academic, much like a scientific paper, describing the challenges put to the industry of home entertainment, having the work I'm developing as a base, discussing the possible solutions and justifying or criticizing the followed ones. While not entering in details, it's being difficult to find any academic value in what I'm doing. Well, right now though, I can see some academic interest in one of my colleagues work, on which I'm giving a little help. I'll be talking with my supervisor about the specific theme of my report tomorrow or so, to get the things well defined and moving.

I'm looking forward to make this year an assertive year. A year of change in many levels.
